Description:
Parent Spy is a program that checks if your parents are on your computer when you are not home.
it will automatically send an sms to your phone when your pc starts up.
How-To-Use Guide:
1. Unpack parent spy.zip (somewhere your parents do not look)
2. Run Parent Spy - Config.exe
3. The program will now check for updates
4. Put in your settings (Look longer down this page for more info)
5. If you selected "Startup With Windows" :Proceed to step 6
6. Now when you start your computer there will be a small "Hard Drive" icon in the lower right corner, right at the clock
you will need to double click this icon within 60 seconds, or it will send an sms.
7. When you have doubleclicked on the icon, there will be a password form that comes up.
you will now need to enter the password you typed in on the Configurator within 10 seconds.
if you are slower than that. the pc will shut down.
Settings Information:
- Select Sms Service -
Type in your Phone Number and your password to the service you selected
Telenor: No Problems.
Netcom: No Problems.
Biip: this one is Very Unstable. and dont blame me. blame those who made Biip.
- Config -
Startup With Windows: self explained...
- Preferred Mode -
Pass+Sms Mode: This mode will be hidden with a little icon on the lower left for 60 seconds.
after that it will send a sms. do stop this, double click the "Hard Drive" icon and type your Password.
- Password Mode Config -
Password: this is the password you will need to enter in the password form, when using Pass+Sms Mode
Important Information!:
there are some compatibility issues with Parent Spy on Vista.
but if you are using vista. you will need to let Parent Spy have Admin Rights. to do this. follow this
* Right-click on Parent Spy.exe
* Click on the Advanced / Properties button
* In the Dialog window that pops up check the box ‘Run As Administrator’
More Information:
Always make sure that you use the same Version of both Parent Spy and Parent Spy - Config.
And remember that Parent Spy is still in an early stage.

Debugging:
If you want to debug Parent Spy, you can Hold F12 and double click on the Hardrive Icon while running Parent Spy.
This will open up the Webbrowser and a log. and you can see where the bug is.
The log will automatically save to C:\Windows\System32\Parent Spy Log.txt
